If you want to control colors directly (whatever the mode you have chosen - Full-XY, Full-RGB, Full-HS, or Full-RAW), you need to select the ‘Colour mix’ value in the ‘Source Type’ parameter (DMX circuit n°7).

The ‘Source Type’ parameter is the most important when using the RJ Color management system.
The Source Type parameter is available in Full-XY, Full-RGB, Full-HS, Full-RAW mode and can be found on DMX circuit n°7.
Depending on the selected value (i.e. the light source you want to reproduce), the following functions will be activated:

There are 2 main categories of DMX control modes (personalities):
● Simple : mode 1 (Dimmer8B) and mode 2 (profile16b). Both modes provide remote DMX control of intensity parameters only (as on a fixed white fixture). All color parameters must be set locally via the ‘Home Values’ menu.
● Full: mode 3 to 6 : all these modes provide access to all fixture functions. The choice of mode is mainly determined by compatibility with the DMX console used.
The 4 Full modes:
● Full-XY (mode 3): provides color control in absolute x,y values in the CIE1931 color space. The fixture's calculation algorithms maximize the various LED sources to deliver the required color. There is no interpretation (or calculation) by the console. The color generated by the fixture is maintained. All fixtures using this mode will generate the same colors (according to the physical limits of each source). This mode is to be preferred. Complies with ESTA ANSI E1.54 - 2021 protocol (control in xy CIE 1931). Compatible consoles (non-exhaustive list): MA3, EOS, Chamsys...
● Full-RGB (mode 4): provides color control in absolute RGB values in the color space defined in the fixture settings. The fixture's calculation algorithms maximize the various LED sources to deliver the required color. There is no interpretation (or calculation) by the console. The color generated by the fixture is maintained.Please note that the console must use the same reference color space. Example: the EOS console uses the ProPhoto space, so the fixture must be set to the same space to maintain color compatibility. Complies with ESTA ANSI E1.54 – 2015 protocol (control in RGB).
● Full-HS (mode 5): provides color control in absolute Hue Saturation values in the color space defined in the fixture settings. The fixture's calculation algorithms maximize the various LED sources to deliver the required color. There is no interpretation (or calculation) by the console. The color generated by the fixture is maintained. Please note that the console must use the same reference color space. Example: the EOS console uses the ProPhoto space, so the fixture must be set to the same space to maintain color compatibility.
● Full-RAW (mode 6): provides independent control of each of the fixture's LED sources: Red, Green, Blue, Lime. The console mixes and optimizes the various LED sources to generate the required color. Each console has its own calculation algorithms and does not have all the fixture's spectral information, so results may differ from one console to another. This mode is not recommended.
Note: If the function is not DMX-controlled, the fixture applies the value set in Home value.
Recommendations :
- EOS: Full-XY or Full-RGB / Full-HS with ProPhoto space
- MA3: Full-XY
- Chamsys: Full-XY
- MA2: Full-RGB
