Robert Juliat is proud to sponsor a scholarship with the Théâtre National de Strasbourg

At the end of 2020, Robert Juliat made a commitment to support the education of a managers-creators student at the Ecole supérieure d'art dramatique of the Théâtre National de Strasbourg (TNS) by financing a three-year scholarship.

The TNS committee awarded the Robert Juliat scholarship to Manon Poirier. Manon holds a French Baccalaureate STD2A, and after an internship in a theater, she decided to enter a DMA program in stage management with a specialization in lighting at the Lycée Guist'hau in Nantes. She continued her studies with a Bachelor's degree in Theater Studies at the Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris. She recently joined the TNS in the stage management-creation section, with the Groupe 47 class.

"I chose the TNS because this school allows me to continue a journey, to collectively experiment by learning from each other, to think about our jobs and in particular the question of sustainable development in the performing arts and to give meaning to what we want to do," explains Manon. "I like the idea of translating a thought, the one of the director, into a visual or sound result, made possible by the material. I see working with light as an investigation of what the text is saying, in a different language than that of the actor. As a student, the scholarship brings financial serenity, but not only. This grant is very symbolic for me because François Juliat, General Manager of Robert Juliat, also completed the TNS lighting course. I see this sponsorship as a kind of guidance, a link that is forged between professionals in the sector who are already established and us who are just starting out. So quite simply, a big thank you!

Caroline Strauch, in charge of sponsorship and partnerships at TNS, confirms this feeling. "For us, this long-term support is the guarantee of a real human commitment to us, very meaningful. We are happy and proud to share this common ambition.”

"The health crisis has not challenged our support. On the contrary, it has revealed the importance of creating a direct link between the various players in our industry, and of passing on knowledge to ensure quality training for students, the future professionals of the lighting industry," concludes François Juliat, General Manager of Robert Juliat.
